About Sounds of Eau Claire
The Sounds of Eau Claire, a collaboration between the Special Collections and Archives Department of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire’s McIntyre Library, the Chippewa Valley Museum, the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire’s History Department, and Blugold Radio, LLC., conducted over 50 oral history interviews and collected digital objects which document and help us better understand the late 19th and early 20th century music scene in Eau Claire, Wis. and the broader Chippewa Valley region. The project was conducted in three phases, two rounds of oral history interviews followed by a series of history harvest events which captured stories and digital objects from contributors. Financial support for aspects of the project was provided by grants from the Wisconsin Humanities Council and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
