Looking Ahead
The Future of the ADA
Technology continues to play a vital role in helping governments, businesses, and other organizations support accessibility. There will be increasing emphasis on electronic access (websites, touch screens, etc.) in the years ahead.
In the image to the right you can see a new touchscreen ordering station in a McDonald's restaurant. This ordering station is an example of how technology may increase accessibility.
Ripples from the ADA
Churches and other organizations, although not covered by the ADA, realize that improving access for all encourages more business and allows work to be more accessible. Philanthropic foundations, such as the Access Eau Claire fund of the Eau Claire Community Foundation in our region, help fund efforts to support greater accessibility and accomodations.
